Of course, it's all down to personal preference. I always use a controller on my PC for games like Jedi Fallen order or Dark Souls. ![]() But, they're faster and more intuitive for fighting and arcade games than a mouse and keyboard are. Joysticks are very strange to be aiming with, and have to use acceleration, reticle friction, and a lot of aim assist in order to compensate for how inaccurate joysticks actually are for most people. Mice can be extremely precise, which is why games like CSGO and Valorant exist on PC with absolutely no aim assist, and don't exist on consoles at all. You're aiming with your whole arm and wrist to make macro/micro adjustments on a square shaped plane (your mousepad) analogous to the screen you're aiming on. With the way that a mouse allows you to aim so precisely, it makes far more sense to play FPS game on that type of input device. But, when I play with great MnK players on PC when I am using controller, I can never keep up with their movement so I need to play much more defensively and rely on the friction from snipers and other high aim friction choices.ĭestiny has a lot of problems in PvP, particularly with weapon balance, lack of dedicated servers, random deaths, etc… But I feel it’s one of the few games where distinct advantages aren’t had solely due to input choice. I had to pretty much adjust my whole game to account for everyone having insane aim friction. So, I dedicated a few weeks to only console play to play with them, and honestly, for me, the console players (being controller only) were HARDER than playing mixed lobbies on PC. ![]() They only play on console, though, because they feel MnK players have such an overwhelming advantage that playing against them is unplayable. I know some guys who I feel are true top players, some of the best in the game. They also get some guns that get some extremely questionable tuning - like TLW. Controller players get extreme levels of reticle friction, to the point I’ve literally been pulled off target when someone ran across the field as I was shooting. MnK has movement and camera control advantages that allow them to do things you can’t on controller - especially hunters. Both sides have unique advantages that the other side doesn’t have. The fact is, controller and MnK have near parity in this game.
